How do you get a pet in animal crossing wild world?

NO you can't that´s what I know because where ever I go I don't see anybody with a pet or any shop and I´ve been to many places on Animal Crossing City Folk.

You can catch bugs and fish and put them in your room, get a hamster (which is a furniture item, you cannot feed it), and a bird (another furniture item, considered just a bird cage),and a dog house, but no real pets to take care of.

You cannot actually get a pet in Wild World. There are, however, two furniture sets that come with animals. The bird cage and the hamster wheel include a bird and a hamster. They are actually furniture, though, and are not pets. Thus, you cannot get a pet.

No, you cannot get a pet on animal crossing wild world for the DS. my bffaps heard about it and went nuts trying to find out how, it's just a rumor.
