How do you get into the forest temple in legend of Zelda ocarina of time?

go to graveyard and to the left theres tombstones.One of them has a hole under it go in the hole and talk to dampe race him and keep up with him.At the very end the treasure chest will be a hookshot get it and go to where forest temple is stand in front of the platform(closer to the door)use your hookshot to grab the tree branch and get on top of the broken staircase now just walk in the door

If you go to the Faron woods (the one near the forest temple) a girl monkey will jump out. she will be being attacked by puppet monsters. save her and she will tell you that she found a secret place. then she will hop off. if you walk to the right you will find your self on a ledge. Midna will call you and take you across.

After pulling the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time and getting back to the Temple of Time, heed Shiek's advice and go to Kakariko Village (the town at the foot of Death Mountain) and go to the Graveyard. Enter Dampé's hut and read the message, then go to his grave, the one with flowers by it at the lower left corner of the Graveyard. Beat him in a race and he'll give you the Hookshot. Take the path that opens; it leads to the windmill. Make sure you talk to the organ grinder before you leave; he'll teach you the Song of Storms, which will be necessary later in the game. Then head back to Kokiri Forest, make your way through the Lost Woods to the Hidden Forest Meadow (play Saria's song to make Mido move), get past the monsters, and use the Hookshot on the wooden branch above the elevated entrance to the Temple. After becoming Adult Link, go to Kakariko Village, and go to the Graveyard north of the village. Pull the grave with flowers next to the Magic Bean plant and go into the hole, where you'll meet Dampe. Race him, and if you can keep up with him, you'll get the Hookshot. After getting the Hookshot, go to the Kokiri Forest, and go through the Lost Woods until you reach the Sacred Forest Meadow. Go through the maze, defeating the Moblins with your Hookshot, until you reach the area where you met Saria as Child Link. There, Sheik will teach you the Minuet of Forest, which allows you to return to that area at any time. After this is done, use the Hookshot to latch onto the tree and go into the Forest Temple.

You have to use the bow and arrow. When you get to the door of the room with the twisted hallway use the bow to hit the eye on top to change the room. Now you can get the chest.
