How do you get megalixir on Final Fantasy X?

sometimes you can buy at shops or from O'Waka. but, O'Waka doesn't usually have anything that rare, so you're best off buying it at rest stops or rich merchants. but if you're lucky, you can win after a fight.

Neither O'aka or any other shops will ever sell these extremely rare items, and only 6 of them can be found in chests throughout the entire game:

3 in:

Bikanel Desert: West

1 in:

Cavern of the Stolen Fauth

Within Sin- Sin: City of Dying Dreams

Baaj Temple

If you have the International Version, then Megalixirs are a rare steal from Penance, but you have to survive long enough to steal and then flee from him for it to count.

You can bribe a megalixir from Xiphos for 54000 gil or 20 megalixirs from Varuna for 1,120,000 gil

Finally, several can be obtained through miscellaneous minigames:

Blitzball - League Prize - 1st Place, Macalania Woods (Central) - Butterfly Hunt minigame after Spherimorph (x2), Remiem Temple - Chocobo Race, Two Chests and No Pole, Thunder Plains - Dodge 150 bolts in a row (x4), Bikanel Desert - Obtain six or seven of the Cactuar's spheres, Unlock Shinryu (x30)

Apart from being very helpful items, 20 can be used to customize the useful Double AP ability to a weapon.

All of these methods are costly and time consuming, so i would suggest if you need to use them in battle, just use rikkus mix overdrive and mix a stamina spring and a power sphere.
