Well, you need some way of earning money. If you are a low level i suggest buying animals or adopting them from friends or growing crops.

With animals you only get a set amount of xp when you first buy them where as if you grow crops every time you plow or seep a crop or plot you get a small amount of xp. Also once you have finished seeding your plots make sure you ask you friends if they can fertilise them as these give you an additional amount of xp for every plot fertilized.

Once you have got a satisfactory amount of money you can start buying decorations or buildings which will slowly raise your xp amount. Another way of getting xp is to fertilize your friends crops (plus your helping hem as well as your self).

But over all i suggest growing crops with the most profit and the most xp.

The fasted way to level on Farmville is probably too plant Raspberries. They give 2 EXP per plot, and after they've been mastered, that number increases to 3. Another reason is that they only take 2 hours too fully grow, which means you can get more fields of Raspberries in each day.

When playing Raspberries though, you'll need to have spare time enough in your day to check on your Farm at least every 2 hours or else they will wither, rendering the money you spend on the seeds wasted, and no EXP for them.
