If you would like to make a new word by joining two words together then this is called a Portmanteau. For example :

internet + etiquette = Netiquette

Guess + estimate =Guestimate

I've made a few up, most notably ;-) when I had a spot on my bottom which I called spottom. It was funny at the time.

To help you create new words there are a few generators on the internet which really help when, for instance, looking for a good domain name. I was using a couple of these yesterday and they come up with some good results. They do all tend to work in a different way but are all very straightforward.

It's easy make a word then tell it to everyone but it needs to have a definition! Make sure the word is funny and interesting! Make sure the word can have some Prefixes and Suffixes! If it doesn't it won't work!
