iapologise for the spelling mistakes in advance =P you can move other families into lots owned by anther family by dragging the family over the lot in the neighborhood menu. THIS CAN NOT be done if the lot will exuded more then 8 people, although you can get more it you use the TOLD (tombstone of life and death) to add the families members one by one (the family your using has to know the other family members) and this can be done as many times as you want there is no people limit this way. if you have any more questions e-mail me at zegapayne-ghost@hotmail.com i hope i helped ;)
I can only give you the PC instructions. you click on the newspaper, choose find own place, it will come up with a menu, you choose which sims you want to move out with, you exit the lot, the sims will appear in the sim menu in the neighbourhood, click on them and put them in the lot you want them to move into. have fun and happy simming!!
A person can leave the lots on The Sims 2 for the PS2, but they will not be able to move their family. They will need to create a new family on this lot.
when they move out, they will enter The Clipboard (the place where the Sims are kept after you've made them but before you move them into a house. From there, you can move them into a new lot to play them.
First create your family, then move them into a small house or small lot. Then type control+shift+c and a cheat box should pop up at the top of the screen. Type in "motherlode" for the sims 2 and 3, or "rosebud;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;" for the original sims. Then, move out your family with a button on the top of the neighborhood view for the original sims, and a button in the bottom near create a family for the sims 2. You should then be rich! Pick any big house you want to move your sims into!
I'm pretty sure you can't but you can just move to another house or lot and get a another one that way.

you can a) make a family and move them in or b) with an unnocupied lot you press the buildings button on the UCP and then click on the lot you want to go into. Then click on the 'enter lot' button
once you are ready to move out of your home, click on a phone and select move, you can then choose who is going to move and where to move to, you can click the lot or house button to select and empty house or lot to move into, you can also either sell your items you have in your home so far or you can put them in your family inventory and there will be in your family inventory once you get to your new house.

You can use the mobile phone located in your sims inventory, and press move.Then you move all of the sims you want into the right hand side box and the ones you leave nehind will either continue on as any family would do, but without your control, or it will be your playable household( the sims you have decided to move will then have to be found a house to live in by you or you can kick them out, ehich will move them to any random lot in the neighborhood.) 2. You can use the computer which is pretty much the same as the phone but its a computer. 3. Go into Edit Town and evict household. Then move them into your desired lot. In The Sims 2, to move a family to a different house, you need to first enter the lot you want to move them to. Then, click on the phone or computer in the game and select the "Move" option. You can then choose the family you want to move and select the option to move them into the new house. Finally, confirm the move and the family will be relocated to the new house.
Make the family move out. You can use the newspaper or computer, select the option "find own place" (will only work for adults and elders). Then you select who is moving out with your sim. Move everybody else out too, and after the taxi comes and your sims leave, the lot will be empty. The family will be in the Sims bin.
if you move in sims2 your roommates will only move with you if they are part of your family that you created or your moving to a new apartment they will not move with you to a house
