To keep the course in a straight line with no obstacles, you have to click options in the main menu, then turn tutorial mode on. Once you have done this, click play. In the game it will tell you how to turn. At a turn, swipe three times really fast and the game may spasm for a few seconds, but then the course will just be a straight line with no obstacles and your guy will keep running.
