PoptropiCon is the 40th island of Poptropica, a three-episode quest released beginning in August 2014. It features the goings-on at a Comic Fan Convention. It is loosely based on Marvel Comics characters (Thor, The Avengers) and the 2015 movie Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Episode 1 is Line Forms Here. Episode 2, Spoiler Alert, was released for free general use on November 13, 2014) Episode 3, Reign of Omegon, was released on April 16, 2015.

PoptropiCon 1 - Line Forms Here
The object is to get into the convention. To do this, you will need to interact with the other fans. There are three areas around the convention center: the parking lot and restrooms to the left, and a short alley to the right.
1) Go right to the convention entrance. (you can save your current Poptropican look at the Closet booth, because you will be changing it in the quest).
2) Ask the fans in line if they have an extra ticket. A girl dressed as a Princess does, but she says she is saving it for a friend, and shows you his photo. If you can look like him, you can fool her and get the ticket. You can do this using the Costumizer feature (The green t-shirt on the Menu bar). You need: a white beard, a robe with an amulet, a pointy hat, and a wooden staff.
3) Get the staff from the guy in the rear of the line (click t-shirt, click character, click item, click green check mark). Climb to the roof and copy the pointy hat from the witch character. Just below, copy the beard from the guy at the soda machine. While there, pick up the empty bottles from the trash. Go left to the Pizza truck in the parking lot and get the robe and amulet from the fan there. Return to the Princess girl. But she is expecting something from her friend and you don't know what it is. She suggests he was in the line for the restroom.
4) Go left to the restroom line, where you find the bearded friend. He apparently left the item in the restroom and can't get back through the line. He is planning to leave and skip the convention.
5) You can swap your way through the line by assisting the people in front of you. The first girl needs to know who played Thor in an old movie (Poptropica version, not Chris Hemsworth). Head all the way back to the Alley right of the entrance, go past Security, and click the wall sign that names Bucky Lucas. (On your way out, you can pick up some backpack straps from one of the trash bins.)
6) Give the fan her information, and the next fan in line wants to know when the cosplay contest will be held. Return to the convention center: the sign is up on the level with the soda machine. Click it and return to the restroom line give the fan her info (nice if you could have gotten it without all the running around).
7) The next fan will swap with you if you have the power amulet. You can get it from the Cheetah Bandit, on top of the bus at the waiting area. She wants you to race her to the top of a building. To win despite her head start, jump up and left, and climb the downspout along the left side, then jump onto the clothesline to bounce to the roof, and the table umbrella to reach the top of the water tower. She gives you the power amulet (a bottle cap) to wear and show the fan.
*Wearing the amulet provides an effect that lets you move at "blur speed."
8) The next fan in line wants the Fremulon Mask from the language booth. To pass the conversation test, you can use the pamphlet to learn the phrases, but the three proper responses are:
Scrum Bellazugh!
Bemblex Zup Amfrozan.
Blurge Scrashble Bellazagur.
*This is made simpler because in the 2nd and 3rd responses, the LAST word he says is the FIRST word of your correct response. You do have to look at the pamphlet before you can take the test.
Give the fan the Fremulon mask.
9) The last fan in line wants a replacement jet pack prop, and gives you the instructions. Go right to the Forge of Finery tent to build the prop. You already have the straps and bottles, so all you need are the watch parts from the top of the tent. Click the building table, then click the straps, the glue, the bottles, the glue, the watch parts, and the spray paint, and you have your jet pack.
10) The fan lets you have her place in line. (And flies off using the prop jet pack!)
11) Enter the portable toilet and you recover the lost item: a Thor's Hammer replica (Mjolnir). Unfortunately, when you tell the Princess where it was, the deal is off!
12) Equip Mjolnir and go back to the alley and to the Security area, where a guy is guarding a Viking Catapult. He likes the hammer. If you can emulate Thor, maybe you can use the catapult.
13) Go and copy the four costume items: beard (first guy in waiting area), tunic (Forge of Finery fan), horned helmet (girl in restroom line), and robe (other girl in line). Now you look like Thor. Go back and tell the guard he should go to the Con. He leaves.
14) Climb up and jump down onto the catapult basket until it locks down into launch position. Climb on and push the release lever. You are launched through the air, and through the circular window!
15) You receive the Island Medallion for PoptropiCon episode 1.
---
PoptropiCon 2 - Spoiler Alert
You are inside the Con, and must win the costume contest as Omegon (of "Mighty Action Force").
1) You drop in through the window, and the contest emcee tells you about the contest to win a part in an upcoming movie sequel. But apparently Omegon's look is a secret.
2) The atrium (left) is a Common Room. You want to go right into the Expo Floor and its connecting rooms: a Demo Hall, an Exhibit Hall, and a maze-like Hallway.
3) On the Expo Floor, you are recruited by Wicked Cool News to find 3 images of Omegon, with which they will help you make a costume to win the contest. They give you a cell phone to capture images.
4) Mighty Comics creator Stan Ditko says Sasha Capone, of Totally Rad News, tried to sell him photos. Go right to follow her. Pick up a free Elf Archer comic as you pass. (If she stops to talk to you, go back and see Stan again, then she will dash for the Hallway.)
5) Continue right to the Hallway, which has three doors that (impossibly and confusingly) always lead back to the same place. Watch to see where Sasha goes and follow her.
6) At the hall next to the Tech Lounge, she offers to sell you the photo, but you have no cash. Sasha gives you her business card and enters a meeting, leaving her cell phone in a bin. Go right to the Tech Lounge and call her phone, then run back to the bin to answer, and text yourself the photo from her phone.
7) Leave the hallway, go back to the Expo Floor and enter the Exhibit Hall. The workers are looking for a statue of the "silver age Elf Archer" (as in the reprint comic), and you will have to costume yourself that way to pose as the missing statue and enter the locked room.
8) The costume items to copy are: tunic (on Piñata-Man hanging in the Tech Lounge), feathered cap (the kilted investigator on the second level of the Expo Floor), bow (from the knight in the Demo Hall to the left), and mask (from the Green Hornet fan way back in the Theater).
9) Go back to the Exhibit Hall and stand still on the dolly holding the second statue. They will wheel you left into the room. When they leave, climb left to the second level where the Omegon masks are displayed, and get the photo.
10) Leave the Exhibit Hall, go back to the Expo Floor, and left into the Demo Hall, where a demonstrator shows you how to play a card game based on superhero characters. It is based on turns where you can add gems to your own collection, or attack to remove them from your opponent's collection, using a limited deck of number cards. When you finish, you get an additional card (a strong 4) for your deck.
11) Click on a balloon to the right, and jump from the table to the second floor, where you will challenge an experienced (but overconfident) player. First go to the bulletin board and smack it several times until a special card (a 2 that blocks 2's and 1's) is revealed. Substitute the 4 and the 2 for 1's in your playing deck. You can use your improved deck to beat the expert and get her special Omegon card (a 6, which she never plays).
* You can find the other special cards to equal her deck, but you probably don't need them:
- use a balloon and jump left at the top of the Expo Floor (Trash Collector card)
- use the balloon and jump up to the inflated hero in the Exhibit Hall (Fashion Ninja card)
- look behind the box at upper left in the theater (Teen Arachnid card)
- beat the card player in the theater (GoldFace card)
- hit the soda machine in the Tech Lounge / Hallway (Pony Girl card)
- beat the player in the Tech Lounge (Elf Archer card)
* Hint to beat the expert (as seen beating the demonstrator): use at least one 4 and one 3 to attack, and the special blocking 2 when she plays a 1 or 2, and she will run out of cards before she can get to 13 gems. If the game were harder, you would need more of the special cards.
12) With all three images on the phone, go back to the WCN table and give the phone to the red-haired guy, who will fashion you an Omegon costume. Put on all 4 pieces and go to the Theater, where the contest is beginning.
13) You are the best of the three entrants, but suddenly a portal opens and the "real" Omegon appears, out to destroy the Mighty Action Force!
14) An actual super-villain has crashed the Con. But you get the Episode 2 Island Medallion.

PoptropiCon 3 - Reign of Omegon
Omegon takes over the Convention, but the fans fight back. (delayed twice, possibly due to conflicts with the basis of the story, the Marvel superhero movie Avengers: Age of Ultronreleased May 1, 2015)
1) You awake from the finale of Spoiler Alert, in a hiding place with other fans who escaped detention by Omegon and his minions. The emcee of the costume contest gives you info about a possible way to beat Omegon. You need the three simulated weapons used by the Mighty Action Force, but the three actors wearing their costumes have been imprisoned by Omegon.
2) Go left and get the Energy Drink (also the first of three you collect). Use the vent that leads to the Exhibit Hall, where Elf Archer is imprisoned.
3) In the Hall, you find red lasers firing, some on-and-off. Go far right to find a Silver Age World Guy Shield, which you can use to deflect on-off lasers into the controls for it or other lasers.
* As you gain each of the weapons, a small icon will appear at lower left so that you can toggle each of them on and off as you need them. Press your spacebar to hold the Shield out left or right.
4) Face left and use the Shield to deflect the laser left into the controls, shutting off that laser.
5) Go left and repeat the process with the laser firing to the left, and face right to deflect it upward. This knocks out both of the lasers there.
6) Climb up and deflect the laser firing down, sending it left, knocking out all three lasers.
7) Go left and press the Red Button that releases Elf Archer. Follow him back to the hideout.
8) Elf Archer (an actor) gives you his Bow and Arrow. Go right to enter the vent that takes you to the Expo, where Goldface is being held.
9) Omegon's minions are using a machine to convert humans into drone minions. But their machine malfunctions as they use it on the Wizard character (from episode 2) carrying an Energy Drink. An exposed wire shorts out one, and the other one leaves.
10) There are Green Energy Barriers that can be turned off by shooting an arrow into its controls. You have to be on the same level. Click the Bow icon at lower left, then press the spacebar to shoot an arrow to the left or right.
11) Shoot the first switch just to the right of the machine. Go right and climb up, because the next switch is too high. Push the loose 'circuit box' to the right, off the platform, so you can stand on it to shoot the arrow into the second switch. The barrier drops covering the third switch (upper right) which you can shoot from the highest barrel, left along the platform. A laser prevents you from reaching the cage with Goldface.
12) Push the second circuit box left, exposing a hole in the floor. Climb down to the lower level, click to equip your Shield, and reflect that laser up through the hole, destroying the controls. Push the button to release Goldface and follow him back to the hideout.
13) Back at the hideout, Goldface gives you his Electron Pulse gloves, but they have no power.
14) Head back to the Expo and go to the exposed wiring. This will power up the Pulse Gloves. Touch the small triangle at the left of the machine to free the Wizard character, who gives you your second Energy Drink.
15) Go back to the hideout, then to the Exhibit Hall. Use the Pulse Gloves to activate the drink machine there and it will give you your third Energy Drink.
16) Go to the hideout, then to the Theater, where World Guy is being held. Use the Pulse Gloves to start the small elevator at left, and as you are going up, select the Bow and shoot the switch to turn off the lower Green Energy Barrier. Jump through and use the Shield to deflect the laser to the right, to destroy the right side laser control. Unfortunately this latest use destroys the Shield. Use the Gloves to ride up the second elevator, shoot the switch for the upper Green Energy Barrier, and release World Guy, and follow him back to the hideout.
17) World Guy gives you the Modern Shield, and you have all three weapons. But the emcee has betrayed you and the Resistance to Omegon, who appears through a Portal. He apparently cannot be defeated as shown in the comic. He reneges on his deal with the emcee and takes her away, leaving his minions to capture you. But there is another way to defeat Omegon, as shown in another comic (#378), and you escape to attack his Power Crystal, which is in his throne room at the Theater.
18) In the Theater, climb to the top and use the new Shield to deflect the laser there. Go left into the Throne Room to deal with the Crystal. Below it, attach an Energy Drink to each of the three open connections, each of which will increase the power of the Crystal, until it reaches critical. Use the Pulse Gloves on the three Slider controls to start them moving. Climb right and shoot an arrow into the crystal through the gap, past all three of the moving Sliders. The crystal explodes, and Omegon's throne is destroyed.
19) Unfortunately, you are not finished yet, as Omegon has been thrown into his alternate dimension, and drags you there through a Portal. As you go, you obtain the powers of Alphaon, and you face a gigantic version of Omegon (the final boss).
20) The object is to use the lasers and elevators as you have done before. Deflect the laser to hit one of the elevators "claws" that are smacking down on you, jump aboard, use the Gloves to power it, and use your Bow to shoot the two green power switches on one side of Omegon's head. This causes one eye to glow red, so you have to deflect the laser to destroy this as well. Repeat on the other side.
* You have to use the shield to deflect the lasers each time, and avoid the elevators, or you lose the shield for a time.
21) Omegon is defeated, and the convention building returns to normal. The repentent emcee gives you the Island Medallion for PoptropiCon part three.
Notes and Glitches:
OFFICIAL VIDEO WALKTHROUGH - see discussion page
a) the offer to save your current costume can fail if you are not a paid monthly member
b) In episode 2, after winning the Omegon card in the card game, Poptropica can lock up. Also, trying to play the card game after you get the Omegon card may make Poptropica lock up or the card deck become unusable! (This was mostly fixed, but could also occur in Episode 3.)
In Poptropicon, you can obtain the bow and arrow by completing a specific quest. First, you need to visit the "Poptropicon" island and look for the character named the "Archer." Follow the quest prompts, which typically involve gathering items or solving puzzles, and you'll eventually receive the bow and arrow as a reward. Once you have them, you can use them to complete various challenges in the game.
In PoptropiCon Part 2, the bow and arrow can be found in the "Heroic" section of the convention. Specifically, you need to go to the booth where the "Heroic" items are displayed. Look for the character selling the bow and arrow, and you can purchase it from them. Once you have it, you'll be able to use it for various challenges in the game.
In Poptropicon: Hail of Omegon, the energy drinks can be found in the "Game Show" area. Look for the vending machines where you can interact to collect the energy drinks. They are essential for completing certain quests and advancing in the game. Explore the surroundings to ensure you collect all the necessary items!
To activate the gloves in Poptropicon Episode 3, you need to first find the "Glove Box" located in the backstage area of the theater. Once you reach the Glove Box, interact with it to retrieve the gloves. After you have the gloves, equip them from your inventory, and you can then use them to interact with certain objects in the episode to solve puzzles and progress in the game.
In Poptropicon, players navigate through various themed islands, completing quests and challenges related to pop culture and conventions. Start by exploring the main area to gather tasks and interact with NPCs. Complete mini-games and collect items to unlock new areas and advance the storyline. Finally, participate in the convention to showcase your achievements and earn rewards.
To solve Poptropicon, players need to complete a series of tasks related to the movie-making theme of the island. This involves collecting items, helping characters, and solving puzzles to unlock different areas. Key objectives include finding the missing actors, gathering props, and completing mini-games. Players should pay attention to clues and interact with various NPCs to progress through the storyline.
