How does one become a player moderator on runescape?

There is a small chance that you will become one, most players tend not to bother with trying to become a moderator because of this, you are better off just playing the game like normal, and if they pick you then that's the time to choose.

Here is a list of traits that Jagex look for in player moderators:

Understand and Follow the Rules

RuneScape moderators need to have a full knowledge and understanding of the RuneScape Rules, and must follow them at all times. If you ever come across a player who is breaking a Rule, report them using the Report Abuse feature.

Have a Secure Account

A player must have a secure RuneScape account in order to become a moderator, so that there is no chance of the account being hijacked. Having a secure account includes setting a strong password, recovery questions that are difficult to guess or work out, and registering your email address with your RuneScape account.

Be friendly, helpful and respectful

Jagex looks for players who contribute to the community. This means having a friendly and respectful attitude towards other players. Offering your advice and assistance to other players is also a good contribution to make.

If Jagex decide to invite a player to become a moderator, they will send an invite to their RuneScape message centre. Jagex will never email you a moderator invite, not will they contact you in-game about it.

Simply Play the game fairly, You must be helpful to other players and Enjoy the game, If there is troublesome players report them, Quality over quantity.

Please note: There is currently no way to apply to become a player moderator on RuneScape. The only way to become a player moderator is to accept an invite sent by Jagex to your RuneScape message centre. Never visit sites offering ways to apply to become a moderator, or cheats to instantly become one, as these are always scams, usually designed to steal your account details. If you receive an email of this nature, delete the email, preferably without opening it first.

If you ever end up visiting a website or page promising RuneScape moderator applications, or cheats to become one, run a virus scan on your computer(s). Sites like these often secretly install keyloggers on your computer, designed to steal your account details; a virus scan will help to remove such viruses.

Jagex will contact you if they are interested in you becoming a player moderator. You cannot request to become a player moderator. You have to be a very trustworthy person and a good reporter. Additionally, it helps to have a very low amount of blackmarks!

You must be selected by a jagex employee, when that happens you will be sent a player message on the jagex player message center asking if you wish to take on this task.

Player Moderators are all invited by Jagex. We take many different things into account when looking for prospective Player Moderators; we review personal gaming style and forum posts. We consider the validity of the player's abuse reports and as well as how helpful and friendly they have been to other players in the game.
The likelihood of a player becoming a Player Moderator is not based on combat level or total levels. It's very true that you will not see a player fresh from the tutorial given Player Moderator status, but it's also true that you may see some Player Moderators with lower combat levels than you are expecting. We do check accounts fully before offering them Player Moderator status, so if you see the crown, that player is someone great.
We don't give out details on how close someone is to becoming a moderator, but rest assured that if you are a friendly, community-minded player we'll be sure to notice.

You become one by not asking this question in-game for a start, and also by helping out other players in runescape, showing them your positive side, by playing runescape in a positives way not doing anything wrong, if you have broken a rule in the past, it will lower your chances in being picked.

You would start about by picking a Mincraft server that you would want to moderate on. Go in and build your reputation in a positive way. Talk to people, and let them get to know your personality. Make good choices, and don't overreat to situations. Give new players tips and help them out. Eventually, ask another moderator if they maybe have room for another mod. Don't keep asking and asking though. That will just annoy them. If they say no, just stick with it. If they have a spot, there is a good chance they will think of you.

there are two types of moderators, there is the jagax moderator who is hired, and then the player moderator who is chosen by the hired moderator....
