Video games have an impact on society because there entertaining , a lot of people are drawn into games whether it being a Facebook game such as Farmville , to more hard-core PC/console based games like Call of Duty, they are mentally addicting and make people "Isolated" from the outside world making society a lot less social, video games can effect your confidence levels because your not "Used" to speaking, this can stop people getting jobsmaking unemployment higher in a society of people.

Video games keeps children of the streets which can be good or bad , the good side of this is that there not outside , vandalizing things , being drunk taking drugs etc. But there inside playing video games which let's them do things like this , or different things in a virtual state and can let there anger out, However the bad side of this is that people are becoming unsociable, and not looking for jobs making people lazy and can even result in making a lot of society obese due to lack of exercise.

The video games industry does cost a lot of money on society and can take money out of parents pockets, because there children are addicted to a franchise of games and want the "New releases" , on the other-hand the games industry provides a lot of jobs for society , "30,000 people employed in the UK games industry" (Kent council).
