In total, Nintendo has manufactured over 11 different colored editions of the Game Boy micro. Most of these editions are exclusive to specific regions of the world, so not all 11 editions will appear in your country. The different editions are as follows:
1)Game Boy micro black-
...released in all regions. The N. American edition comes packaged with two additional faceplates and sports a silver faceplate with a black body. The additional faceplates are Flame and Camo. The Japanese black micro however does not ship with the silver faceplate and dons a black faceplate with a black body.
2)Game Boy micro Silver-
...released in all regions. The N. American edition features a black faceplate with a silver body and is packed with two additional faceplates. Those faceplates are ladybug (pink roses littered with ladybugs) and ammonite. The Japanese version is completely silver.
3)Game Boy micro 20th Anniversary edition-
...released only in USA and Japan. It's a limited edition micro unit with a tiny Mario logo imprinted on the backside of the Japanese version. US versions are the same color minus the Mario logo and text. Nintendo had made this unit to celebrate it's 20th birthday since the original NES back in 1985. Features no additonal faceplates and is designed to playfully resemble the older Japanese Famicom console controller. Sports a gold face with a red body.
4)Game Boy micro Blue-
...released in Japan and UK. Has a creamy blue appeal with a glossy faceplate. A beautiful system!
5)Game Boy micro Purple-
...released in Japan only. It's color resembles a rasberry purple and is a great item for the girls.
6)Game Boy micro Green-
...released in the UK only. A solid wintery evergreen appeal.
7)Game Boy micro Pink-
...released only in the UK and Japan. It looks like a cotton candy pink.
8)Game Boy micro Red-
...released world wide. The micro red edition looks like a glossy crimson red, or the color of blood.
9)Game Boy micro Final Fantasy IV limited edition-
...released only in Japan, the Game Boy micro Final Fantasy IV limited edition is perhaps the most decorative version of all the micro units released. It has a dark blue body with a flashy hand painted image of the popular Final Fantasy IV character Kain for a face plate. The blue painting is drawn upon a polar white background. The painted character is the creation of Yoshitaka Amano, a famous artist well known for his work on the hit anime series Vampire Hunter D and the Final Fantasy video game series. A truly gorgeous system and a must have for game collectors world wide!
10)Game Boy micro Mother 3 limited edition-
...Another Japan exclusive. This special micro unit is a showy liquid red with intentional colored splotches streaking across the faceplate. The title "Mother 3" is born across the top right hand side of the faceplate, above the A and B buttons along with the word "Nintendo". The Mother 3 micro is based upon a popular role play series which runs in Japan but has shown up in the USA under the guise of Earthbound Zero for the Super Nintendo Entertainment system.
11)Game Boy micro Pokemon limited edition-
...released only in japan and even rare over there! It was only found at the Pokemon Center stores. It features a black faceplate with a tiny white Pikachu silhoutte in the top right hand corner just above the A and B buttons. Has a dark red body. Despite Pokemon being considered a childrens game by trade, Nintendo did a very nice job creating a sexy design that does Pokemon fans some justice but looks sweet enough that everyone else will really appreciate it as well.
