There are 3 main types of missions on this game.
Agency Missions - You do these missions to get to Tom Sheldon and Baby Panay
Stronghold Missions - You do these for the factions (Ular Boys, Reapers and Roaches) to help them gain land.
Faction Missions - These are to help the agency missions and to help with the factions to complete more percentage in the game.
No, each faction asks for your help to take over three strongholds each, there is no way to take over all 9 for one faction, the takeovers are fixed parts in each of the three faction mission chains.
Depends on who you are asking. Some prefer Red Faction over Cause 2 because it has more features, others prefer Cause 2 because it maybe simpler.
There are Eight Agency missions and a large number of faction missions.
There are 65 missions in total in Just Cause 2. 7 Agency Missions, these are the main storyline missions. 9 Stronghold Takeovers. Three for each faction, these have you help the island's crime gangs seize new bases and expand their influence further. 49 Faction Missions, these are side missions you can do for the faction leaders.

Once you have taken over a settlement for your faction, it's yours to keep. Faction soldiers and vehicles will appear there once it has been taken over.
Only military and faction vehicles can have weapons. Civilian vehicles are not seen with weapons.
To complete normal mode you do all the faction missons. On mercenary mode you need to try get 100% complete.
On the third mission spawn, you turn right and get on the snakehead boat and go straight
Starting a mission, and then aborting it, should get rid of some glitches in the game.
you have to make a massive wind up punch at the last mission to unlock bitey
I just got enough chaos to unlock new faction missions, and they all appear on the map, but whenever I go to them they just aren't there. I can see the place where the mission should be, but no events trigger when I go there. There's no prompt to press any button or anything, and I've tried it with faction missions and race missions but nothing is working. I've tried turning it off and on again and reloading a previous save file and earning the chaos again but to no avail.NOTE: I am playing on the PS3
