yes, go to minecraft.net and then you need an account, then there should be a big BUY NOW on the right of the home page screen. then go through and buy minecraft. After that, there should be a PLAY MINECRAFT BETA. I would choose download. Then click on show all platforms, then choose Minecraft for Mac OS X. Download then open.

I think it is simply because you can't get minecraft on Mac™ computers. Funny though, my friend has a Mac™ comp and she has the demo, so who knows? Well, you can still have the pocket edition.

you can play minecraft on any computer/laptop. It may be slow on old or slow computers, but you can still play it. Keep in mind minecraft takes up a lot of space on your hard drive
