you could try to get medals or do really well in mini games like the snowball fight game (if you have unlocked it ) the vegetable 1 etc
but you could try getting the pacific saury fish hank wants you to get for him you can find that fish in salt water areas (sorry i don't know where that is as i can't remember)
but the one way you are most likely to get the perplexing paw is by getting at least a bronze medal in kayaking but you can try this method: 5 to the left then 5 to the right like how you would kayak in real life .

Ok, the way I got it was by doing this: First of all, you need to get to the Zoo. That it located across the bridge, go all the way to the right, then go to the top right. And voila! Your at the Zoo! Ok then your character controls him or herself (yeah yeah yeah) then you bump into the zookeeper. He's a guy from mysims agents and his name is Tim. He tells you that someone (the guy who started the entire mess) let all the animals at the zoo loose. Then you have to find all the zoo animals, but you have to find at least one, show it to Tim, then ta-da!! You just obtained the Perplexing Paw!!! Thats how I did it at least. Don't worry I was having MILLIONS of trouble with this. Oh and also, if you can't find the Zoo then look at your map find the location Beach and then there will be a shady spot in the top right corner. Thats how I found the zoo.
