Well, a friend code is what you use for wi-fi connection. You trade friend codes with friends and register their friend codes in the heart shaped pocket thingy in the menu. You must have broad-band internet and a wireless router to get wi-fi and you must have wi-fi to use friend codes. You also must do a few installations on your computer and wii to get wi-fi. (If you don't know what to do maybe ask a friend who's a 'computer guy' or ask a professional to do the connections and stuff). To get ur friend code, you go to the town gate at the front of your town and you talk to Copper the dog on the right . You just click on 'friend code' and you will connect to wi-fi connection and he will give you your friend code. You can find ur friend code in the menu in the heart shaped thingy.
