you start out as a boy or girl(doesn't matter). you pick a starter Pokemon and are off to your adventure. throughout the game you encounter team aqua and team magma. since this is Pokemon ruby your siding with team aqua, and team magma is your enemy. in Pokemon sapphire its the other way around. by the end of the game, you fail in stopping team magma, but you have to defeat/catch groundon. then everything is back to normal. this is just a very quick summary of the game. theres a lot to do. personally the game is great but fire red/leaf green are better.
