If you are talking about the handphones that are worn around the hand and you spread your pinkie and thumb to answer it, then some of the advantages are having a phone when you dont have pockets, having a handy portable phone that cannot be lost easily, and being able to know exactly when someone is calling you, whereas some of the disadvantages is the phone can more easily get wet, you wont have the benefit of your hands by keeping it at your ear by the "shoulder method", and it can be more easily crushed.

If you are talking about cellphones, then some advantages are the ability to call anyone at anytime, having something that can call for help, and is easily portable whereas the disadvantages is the limited battery life, the ability to get lost, and the risk of dropping it.
