it's the hard disk drive
Well, I have upgraded the HDD to 950GB, resprayed the whole thing, wired hundreds of LEDs into a body.
yes you can if you have the bigger version of the playstation 3 on the left side is a small door take off that door and you will see some metal with a blue screw. Take out that screw and slide the HDD to the right then pull it out. This is the memory device for the ps3 also known as the HDD or hard disk drive. The details printed on the the HDD will help you determine what kind of hard drive you will need when you upgrade. amazon.com is a great chap way to buy hard drives
PlayStation 3 Slim because it is quieter and lighter. It really depends the use of the PlayStation 3 that you need. If you want to play the PlayStation 2 games on your new system, you should get the Original 20GB or the 4USB port 60GB or 80GB PS3. If you want a quiet and with more HDD space system, then by all means get the new slim versions. Hope this helps.
No games must be saved from actually playing on that PS3 and into the memory card that you build into the PS3 hdd. You can not then download these into a USB port. Nothing from games HDD section can be downloaded to the USB port and used in another console.
of course u can.. connect ur hdd to the ps3.. go to videos.. press the triangle button to view all... and play... but u shld have ur hdd in fat32 format...
You can find a Hard Drive for the PS3 at the website for DiscounTechnology. The optimal HDD (Hard Drive Disk) for the PS3 is SeaGate 2.5" SATA HDD with at least 5400 RPM. Any other will slow down your console anywhere from mildly to drastically. I recommend the SeaGate 2.5" SATA 500Gb HDD. Or if you would prefer a different size, they range anywhere from 1Gb to 1Tb (1Tb [One Terabyte] is equivalent to 1,000 Gigabytes) Be sure you only get the SeaGate brand, or your PlayStation 3's performance will be compromised. The RPM won't matter in this case, as it only determines the speed that the data is retrieved from the hard drive and sent to different locations. link for Playstation network support will help with instalation Can I upgrade the hard disk drive (HDD) inside my PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system
Your hard disk drive (Or HDD) is the equipment that stores all the data on your system. This includes all save data, downloads, and user account on your system. Without an HDD the PS3 could not function properly.
Yes & No you actually can swap the hdds but they are new so i am guessing you can back up on to a memory stick and copy to the hard drive then I added a link to "Can I upgrade the hard disk drive (HDD) inside my PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system?" that includes trouble shooting procedures. It may be of help and is part of the Playstation Support and Knowledge Center
You can not play PlayStation 3 games on a PlayStation 1, but you can play PlayStation 1 games on a PlayStation 3. All of the PlayStation consoles are backwards compatible.
You need to upgrade the hard drive (to a bigger one) or clean it if you have to many games installed.
No only PlayStation 3 games that have PAL written on them can be played on the European PlayStation 3.
