When you get all the trophies that the game offers you will receive what is called a Platinum Trophy and that means you have gotten all trophies possible for a 100% total.
it means you have completed the game EDITED: Wrong... You CAN beat a game (campaign + extras) and NOT get a platinum trophy. Some games require online achievments, whereas others may require certain achievements throughout the game. For example; Madden is known for having dozens of achievements during a game, like an interception that is taken back for a TD (Pick 6). Its possible to get a platinum trophy even though you cant beat the game. As of yet, nothing. Its simple bragging rights, as are the other trophies. On a side note, it would be nice if Sony offered some incentive for getting a platinum trophy. Maybe PSN credits or whatever.
Not every game has a Platinum Edition, but the ones that do are normally Xbox 360 games sold as Platinum Hits and the PS3 games are sold as Greatest Hits or game of the year like Batman Arkham Asylum: Game of the Year Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Greatest Hits) for the PS3 is a Xbox 360 Platinum game
happy days earns you all the trophy on the game
Your ps3 has given you all the trophies you can collect on the game you are currently playing. If your ps3 has stopped giving you trophies, go to the game menu and go to "TROPHIES" of your user and you will find that you have collected every trophy you could.
The "failed to install trophies" bug on PS3 can often be resolved by deleting the trophy data for the affected game. To do this, go to the game's icon on the XMB, press the triangle button, select "Information," and then delete the trophy data. After that, restart the game, and it should prompt you to reinstall the trophies. If the issue persists, try rebuilding the PS3's database through the Safe Mode menu.
