Halo: Combat Evolved (assuming you are referring to the first Halo game of the very popular Halo franchise) is a sci-fi FPS (first-person shooter) game developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was initially released on November 15, 2001, as an exclusive title for the Xbox gaming system. Due to its widespread popularity and many sales (over five million sold worldwide by the time November 5, 2009 came along), in 2003 Microsoft released versions of the game for the PC, available for both Microsoft Windows and the Mac OS X.

As for the plot, Halo: CE takes place in the year 2552, and features Spartan super soldiers that use suits named after Thor's hammer MJOLNIR (mule-ner). Dr. Catherine Halsey and Senior Chief Petty Officer (SCPO) Franklin Mendez produce and give the technology that makes the soldiers what they are. Spartans aren't noted as K.I.A., because the Spartans are labeled as artificial soldiers created by Mendez to make more U.N.S.C. (United Nations Space Command) members. These suits were later fitted with an over-shield created by the Covenant. The Covenant are an alien race that you fight during the game. The Sanghelli (elites), Kig-yar (jakals), Lekgollo (hunters), Ungoy (grunts), Yan-me'ee (buggers), Jirallahane (brutes), San'shyum (propets) and Huragok (engineer) are all alien species that you will be able to encounter in-game.
