There are two rather 'special' races that come to mind when you say Warrior races.
The first is of course... Nords, with their battlecry, they are very useful.
The second is Orcs because they are very strong and specialise in close combat especially with their power Berserker Rage which allows them to take half damage and do double damage for 60 seconds, once per day.

For another opinion, you could choose a race that has extra resistance/defence against certain magics.
This is because there are a lot of magic-using enemies in Skyrim. And at higher levels, unless you pick them off from a distance with a bow, mage-types are very powerful and can sap your health, magicka and stamina quickly, particularly if they're in a group.
Dragons also use magic.
