According to Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, the new Nintendo DS (or DSi) will not be made available until "[w]ell into 2009" in the United States. This is presumably because the DS Lite still sells well in the United States.
The DSi is scheduled to be released in the Spring for the UK.
