Why Russia in modern warfare 2?

Well im going to try to explain this in the shortest and clearest way possiable. In the events of MW1 Russia breaks into a civil war, which is made up of two sides. On one side is the Russian government and it's millitary. On the other side is are the rebels know as Ultranationalists who are lead by Imran Zakhaev who is a old school Communist from back in the days of the Soviet Union. Imran belives that the only way to insure Russian dominance and world peace is too bring Russia back to it's communist roots. Well in the end Imran is killed along with his son. However the Ultranationalists fight on and end up over throwing the Russian government.

So in Modernwarfare 2 we find the world in shambles after th Russian civil war and the huge middle eastern conflict. Well it turns out that Vladimire Makorav (one of Zakhaevs old LT's) is still out on a crusade to bring down the western countries and refuses to let his old leaders dream of a communist world die. So he carries out massive terrorist attacks over a span of five years. Finnally when the CIA sends in a operitive by the name of Joseph Allen to spy on Makarov by any means he ends up getting pulled into a terrorist atttack planned by Makarov. The attack ends up being carried out on an airport in Moscow where they end up killing hundreds of innocent civilans. and right before it seems that Allen had gained the trust of the terrorist mastermind, Makarov betrays him, shooting him and leaving him for dead in the airport for Russian officals to find. When the Russians find an identify him as an ex US Army ranger Russia burst into an outrage. This gives the Russian government the leverage they need to finnally invade the U.S. So they start their invasion of the U.S claiming they will take 100,000 american lives for every civilan killed at the airport.
