This is a problem many users are experiencing at the moment. Im not quite sure, but I have two theories:
1) There was a problem with the upload of the shadows feature and causes website lag
2) Roblox has finally gotten too big for its servers and is now overflowing with users
Either way, use app1.roblox.com whenever that happens, that site never lags out.
