custom content is legal for the sims 3 and any other game, unless it breaks copyright laws
it means what you downloaded wasn't packaged right, or has other problems and is causing your game to crash, the only solution is to delete the custom content that is causing the crash.
You can use one of two ways: Since Custom Content downloaded from The Sims Exchange is in the proper file format, you can just double-click on the file after it has been downloaded to your computer. The Sims 2 Package Installer will then pop up and allow you the option to quit or automatically install the custom content. Or: After downloading Custom Content, you must place the file in the Download folder under My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2. If there isn't a Download folder there, then you can create one. Make sure you spell it right, or it won't work. After you have done ONE of the above options, you must: Then enter the game and go to the Game Options menu under Options and choose the option to allow Custom Content to be used in the game. After that, you must restart the game. You will know which objects are Custom Content objects by the large Star icon in the bottom right hand corner of the objects' thumbnail picture in the game.

Unfortunately, we can't just play Sims 4 on a Chromebook the regular way. The device isn't meant to run heavy games such as Sims 4, especially if you own or buy a bunch of expansion and game packs.
You might have a lot of custom content installed. I do, it takes my game about 15 minutes to load.
I think you use 'Custom Content' button on the sims 2 neighborhood. I am not entirely sure but i think this is how you do it. Source my own game.
Real Sims 2 custom content must be installed. as an add in to the game. when you download the file the icon should be a dark blue circle with a light blue person inside it. You must execute this file just like an installation file to add the content into the game.
You can't decorate a pine tree in The Sims 2. You can, however, buy a tree that has already been decorated and place it in your Sims' property from the Buy Mode, or you can download Custom Content and install it to your The Sims 2 game, or place it in the Download folder under My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\, that has a decorated pine tree if you can find one.
Thru different custom sims websites. One is Modthesims.com. But what i do is just download sims from the sims 3 exchange. Look for a sim that has clothes, hair, and eyes that are not in the game by clicking on one and viewing the outfits and stuff. Then if you download that sims to your game, you might get lucky and get free custom content! I works, I have alot of skins in my game and I got all of them free from the exchange. Happy Simming :)
You can not replace Ava's lipstick, as that would involve downloading Custom Content, which you can not do with the DS game.
