The cost to make a game for the PS2 is only part of the reason there will not be a PS2 version. The company was busy making the PSP game and then the PS3 LBP 2 game with the Move Controller capability. Sony has a Cumulative Software Titles (as of September 30, 2011) PS2 world wide 10,908 yet the PS2 unit sales were down from a FY 2006 high of 193 million units to only 16 million in 2010. Sales of PS2 titles have decreased every year since the PS3 came out. While the FY 2006 PS3 sales were 13 Million Units and the FY 2010 sales were 147 million units increasing every year since the PS3 came out

the ps2 itself is very popular right now at 140 million units sold so it might be possible Little Big Planet was on the PSP and a PSP has graphics of a PS2 so possibly in late 2010 Little Big Planet might be on PS2 (PS2's do have internet Access so you could still make places and visit other people's places) SONY did say that they were making new PS2 games for 2010 due to the popularity of the ps2 so it's a 50% chance that Little Big Planet will be for ps2 so don't put your hopes down just yet
