Will there be a 3rd game in the Red Dead series?

A third game in the Red Dead series is unlikely but not impossible. With Rockstar Games taking of the second Red Dead game, Red Dead Redemption, I doubt that they will make another. I'd say that they made one of the best games on the 360 with Redemption and now that they are working on L.A. Noire it is not likely they will make another. This does not mean they won't, because more money is always good, or that another studio might buy the rights to Red Dead and create their own game. I would say that if they are thinking of making another then we will most likely know in a year or two.

Rockstar Games confirmed in the Summer of 2012 that there will indeed be a sequel to Red Dead Redemption. Unconfirmed reports have the tentative title of "Red Dead Rebellion" as the new game, with a possible release in 2014 or 2015.

Rockstar doesn't rush its sequels, yet I'd bet we'll see it in 2014. There is as of 2013 no official information on the Rockstar Games site, though we may see something at E3 this year.
