What someone does not consider is that the PS3 and Xbox 360 still could not play each other so there would be no advantages whatsoever except reduced cost for each network's operating expenses. The Xbox 360 can not even combine with the PC and Play each other
no. never. they are in direct competition. the Ps3 is a more powerful console, and the Xbox 360 is a better online console. LIVE is better (even though the PSN has dedicated servers and LIVE doesn't) and to merge the two would make the Ps3 dominate the Xbox.
For the two services to merge, the two companies would have to merge, and no one wants that. (loss of competition...monopoly.)
