This along with the message ''To play this disc put in an Xbox 360 console'' is my problem and it is down to the internal laser reflectors being moved and the drive cannot pick up that there is an xbox 360 disc or a disc at all inside it.
Mine did that, i opened it and discovered the screws that hold the Laser in the Dvd Drive up were really really loose, like i mean nearly falling out. I tightened them and gave the Laser a bit of a clean and presto... works like new if anything, better...
But i do stress, do not open it if you have warranty... Send it to M$ for that is you have warranty... I ran out of warranty and they wanted to charge me (AUD) 199$ to fix it when i can get a new 360 Arcade for 250$
my 360 did the same thing. Try taking out the disc and then restarting and then putting back in a disc. Worked for me.
When you have the problem you cant hear the disc trying to be read by the 360...dead silence. When you don't have the problem you can hear the 360 spinning the disc and reading it (it's a whirling sound)
Either your laser in the drive has died or there is some dust that is causing it to fail reading. See if you can fix it by blowing some compressed air into the drive. If that fails open the Xbox and clean the lens with some optical cleaner. If something else is wrong with the drive either purchase a new drive (you will need to flash it) or a new Xbox. If your not a tech whiz you could also take it to a local repair shop.

Hold L3 down and press A (xbox360) Press X (PS3)
The "A" button.
disk drive box
press the open button and take out the old disk and put in the new disk duh.Really that was easy
if disk is able to read rest of the files then disk is good but there is some problem in that files which are not readable. do one thing just try to copy those files and paste it any location and try to open it . if it is unble then sure that those files are corrupt.
eject the disc and put it back in
I am using the Netgear DG834GT and am running 2 xbox360 2 laptops and 2 base computers. I never get any problems with them they are allways NAT OPEN... Hope this helps
The hard plastic case has a slider in it which you can use to open or close the notch as you want. When the notch is open the disk is write protected.
first you open the case second you take the disk out third you open the player then finaly put the disk in and shut the playe idiot
What i did was i looked it up but it said to take the xbox apart because the laser was stuck..... but i wasnt about to take my whole xbox apart so i pressed the open/close button about 15 times and that worked for me..... hope it works for you
