They are caused by subsurface water. At sometime your liner floated and then went back down. You should check your drainage.

How long should a vinyl liner last on an above-ground pool?

AnswerI had one and it will last for many years if you keep it clean and covered when your not using it mine lasted 4 years. Correct PH and alkalinity is importantI have been told by pool shop owners that keeping PH and alkalinity at the proper value will help get the longest life from the liner. Adjust alkalinity to 80 to 120 ppm first. Then adjust PH to 7.2 to 7.4. Check weekly. It is especially important that these values are correct prior to pool closing. AnswerAbove ground pool liners will last 6-10 years in most cases.

Once a gunite pool is converted to a vinyl liner pool can you convert it back to being a gunite pool I live in the Panhandle of Florida and have no problem with ground water?

If it was working ok before you lined it and you have no problems removing the liner you should have no problems.

How do you refill an above ground pool?

Stick a hose in it and turn the tap on. Keep an eye on it as it fills so you can pull any creases out of the liner before there is too much water pressure on it.

How do you remove wrinkles from the bottom of an in-ground pool and why are they there if the pool is new?

Hydrostatic pressure or poor water chemistry. If the watertable is high the liner will float and when the water recedes will create a suction and pinch the liner. If your alkalinity and stabilizer levels are low the sanitizer will not have any molecules to attach to so it goes after the vinyl. The pulls the plastizer out the vinyl and causes it to prematurely fade and wrinkle.

Can you use pool liner for pond liner?

My neighbor has a large pond made with a swimming pool liner and has had no problems ,but his liner is one of the older liners and is really heavy duty .They don't seem to make them as heavy duty anymore .I guess they don't want them to last .The newer ones are much lighter so people can put in the pools themselves .

How do you get rid of brown stains on the bottom and walls of a pool liner that may have been caused by adding baking soda to increase the PH?

Baking soda actually raises the total alkalinity of your pool. This does also increase your pH, but should only be used if your test kit shows low alkalinity. Otherwise you'll raise both pH and alkalinity and then have to use alkalinity down. Borax will raise PH and not alkalinity, but it raises it a lot. Start slowly by adding 1/2 box per 10,000 gal of water. Check the pH after 24 hours to see if you need more. Be sure to use only Borax and not detergent with Borax.Answer by TS( It must not contain detergent ) Only use 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Booster. It can be found at any grocery store. Try using the same amount as you would with PH plus 1 lb. to 10,000 gallons, and wait 2 to 4 hrs. Then check your PH reading. If it's still low, add some more until you get it to 7.2 to 7.8 range. Caution - check your alkalinity before using borax, because borax raises PH only, without affecting your alkalinity. If your alkalinity is also low you can use baking soda to raise your alkalinity and PH. Baking Soda raises PH and Alkalinity at the same time. Baking Soda has the same ingredients as Alkalinity plus, but half the price. Take a look at this web site for more information on Borax. http://www.poolsolutions.com/gd/borax_20mule.html(copy & paste to use link)
