All pool whether fiberglass of gunite can pop under the right conditions. Good example is it has rained heavily for days and someone decided to drain their pool for cleaning or repairs. The ground water table is elevated because of all of the drainage of water into the surrounding ground. An empty shell of a pool is then like a boat and will float upwards as much as two to four feet taking with it all the Plumbing and anything else attached. The only correct way to fix this is to remove the damaged pool entirely. Yes, some construction crews have been successful at saving for refurbishing the pool but at what expense. Possible ~ you now have a pool that is partially out of the ground somewhat like an above ground vinyl pool. Now, you have to build a deck around the pool just to get to or into it. A massive amount of digging and plumbing repair needed. One other problem that persists is how to get the pool leveled again.
