If you can get the right skimmer you should not have too much of a problem However if you cant get a replacement you may be able to get out of it by getting a floating pool skimmer with inline leaf basket.

Replacing a damaged pool skimmer can be a difficult and expensive undertaking. a way to avoid the work involved would be to install a floating pool skimmer this would mean you have nothing to worry about but a hose connection and possibly an inline leaf canister. Check out the Australian Dragonfly pulse surface cleaner also available in the USA.

Is there any kind of repair kit for a rusted pool wall around your through wall skimmer?

If this is an above ground pool you could just pull the old skimmer out cut the rusted section of metal out hit it with some rust converter, replace the section where there is no metal with a new metal forget about the old skimmer setup and replace it with a "floating pool skimmer" they do a better job any way.

How do you build a deck around an above ground pool?

make a cut out hole in the deck. make the deck "flush" with the skimmer lid or make it just above and do a removable deck section to hide the skimmer. Also leave enough room between the top pool railing and the deck for liner replacement

Do you have to replace a pool liner 18 x 48 above ground once the pool has been taken apart?

It really depends on the age of the liner. If its 2 or under it can be packed in water and reused. If its older it is impossible and most likely is already dried out from chlorine and sun. To play it safe its easier to start with a new liner. Its difficult to realign the cut out for the skimmer if you have an in the wall skimmer also.

What is the scum gutter of an above ground pool 18' by 18'?

I may be wrong but I doubt there is a scum gutter on above ground pools. There may be what is called a skimmer and that is sort of a hollow box like object at one side of the pool - usually located closer to the pool equipment side of the pool. When the pool pump is running you will be able to see water entering the box or skimmer. The purpose of the skimmer is to catch bugs, leaves, etc and to get the water back to the pump. It is part of the circulation system.

Do you need to drain above ground pool if too much rain?

No the only thing it will effect is the skimmer and they rarely work too well any way unless you have a floating skimmer. evaporation and splashing will soon take care of it anyway. Rain is free water use it. Draining the pool will also waste pool chemicals.

How can you vacuum the bottom of an above ground pool out with out losing the water?

If you have the regular set up that includes a skimmer, pump and filter then you don't have to waste any water. Get an lid-to-hose adapter, that fits over the skimmer basket at your pool supply store. Fill the hose with water and attach it to the lid. Place the lid inside the skimmer over the skimmer basket, then vacuum to your hearts content. Pool Masters

Can you fill an above ground pool less than full height?

It has to be filled above the skimmer ( flow to pump) or else the filter will not work. Also, if too low the liner may dry out above the water line and cause it to shrink.

How do you keeps frogs out of swimming pool?

have a pool above the ground and tell the kids to not play with kids around the poolyou can jump into the pool and look at themThere is a solution! A new invention that allows frogs to escape from dying in in-ground pools. It is called the Critter Skimmer, and it is a ramp that is attached to the skimmer cover that allows them to crawl out of the pool. It really works. All in-ground pools are designed to push everything into the skimmer, so the frogs will always find their way out. Plus Don't be near a river. Unless it is a above ground pool that you can take downJust replace your existing skimmer cover with the critter skimmer and no more dead frogs! It's amazing. I haven't seen a dead frog in my pool since.go to www.critterskimmer.comAnother option is to use a FrogLog (www.froglog.us) which is a ramp for all kinds of small animals. It works as advertised. The FrogLog is not hidden inside the skimmer so mammals that need to get out quickly before drowning can see the escape route. Frogs and other animals with porous skin need to get out of chlorinated or salt water quickly too. The FrogLog allows for a quick escape. Multiple FroLogs can be used in larger pools. The two devices can also be used together.
