It would be possible, but I would be willing to bet that any contractor will tell you it would be cheaper to install a new pool then to dig out and repair the old.

The old pool may or may not be structurally sound after being filled in. When filling it in they probably weren't very careful about avoiding damage with the equipment.

The Plumbing is probably shot, rusted or crushed. The liner would have to be totally replaced. The concrete will be stained pretty badly. Additional damage may be done to things as the concrete is broken out. An it will be a big job to dig it out, which is going to have to be done by hand.
