The model 87 was made for Montgomry Ward by Savage Stevens from 1938-1945.

The rifle sounds like the Model 81 from Marlin, I don't think they made an 87. I believe $75 is a good price on a functional 22 rifle, if it's not beat to death. Did you ask this question over on the CZ forums??
