If you are asking about a Crosman Model 760, I suggest you go to the Crosman home page and click on "Download an Owners manual". Crosman still offers the manual on the rifle and not only will you see how to load it but you will also learn other features about the rifle.

There are about 8 different versions of the Crosman 760. So I am going to assume that this is just a regular 760, not a Commemorative, 760B, 760AB or 760XL. In Good shape it is worth around $15
The 760 is not designed for rodent control. It was designed for simple back yard target shooting. You may be able to kill the snake but it most likely would take several shots.
You should really take an NRA safety course

To remove the pump from a Remington 760, first ensure the firearm is unloaded and the safety is engaged. Then, remove the forend by unscrewing the forend screw located at the front of the receiver. After the screw is removed, slide the forend forward off the magazine tube. Finally, the pump can be detached from the action by pulling it backward and away from the receiver. Always consult the owner's manual for specific instructions and safety guidelines.
