Life expectancy of the Remington Model 700 rifle can be a very long time. It all depends on how well it has been taken care of. Depending on the caliber, a rifled barrel will withstand 1000's of firings as long as those rounds are not fired repeatedly one after another which would get the barrel very hot (such would be the case with a prairie-dog caliber like the .22-250). Under normal deer hunting conditions where only a few rounds are fired per year (let's say the .30-06), the barrel would last almost indefinately if cleaned and stored properly after use.
