Please tell me how to install the bolt in a Remington Model 512
A model 742 magazine
No, the Remington Model 715 magazine is not interchangeable with the Model 710. While both rifles are part of Remington's bolt-action series, they have different designs and specifications that prevent their magazines from being compatible. Always refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for specific parts compatibility.
That is the complete. Model 12A It's the basic model.
Try eBay or gunbroker.com
The magazine you're looking for is the same magazine as those used on the Model 7400 and Model 74. Look to Cabella's or try e-bay or Gunbroker.com.
Remington makes multiple rifles with detachable clips. The 742 and 760 both have detachable magazines. The Remington model 700 can be readily altered to a detachable magazine, parts are sold in Cabela's, and other suppliers.

There have never been any recalls on the Remington Model 742 that I'm aware of. The Remington 742 is now an obsolete model and was replaced with the Remington Model 7400. The bolt received an upgraded design along with the magazine catch/release. At one time Remington was offering a Model 7400 as a replacement for the Model 742, if you sent them your Model 742 along with $350.00. Is there a problem with the 742 that you have?
No
I've just got this problem this morning myself. I called some gunsmiths and they said you have to send it in to Remington.
