The J.C. Higgins Model 103.229 is a .22 LR caliber rifle that was sold by Sears under the J.C. Higgins brand from the late 1940s to the early 1960s. It was typically manufactured by a company like High Standard or Marlin, featuring a bolt-action design. Known for its reliability and accuracy, it was popular among small game hunters and target shooters. The rifle's classic design and historical significance make it a collectible item among firearm enthusiasts today.
Well, what maker and model? Could be fairly collectable if it is an early Stevens or an old Winchester, but MOST .410 shotguns were not serialized until after 1968.
