The Fastest that I know of is the Air Force Condor with the spin lock tank. In .177 caliber, it is rated at 1450 FPS.
There may be one faster by I haven't see it yet.
The Condor is a PCP (Pre Charged Pneumatic) class air rifle. The .177 barrel is interchangeable with 3 different barrel lengths. In fact the rifle can be changed to .20 cal, .22 cal, and 25 caliber. There are 12 different barrels that can be change on this rifle. The basic cost for the rifle is around $600 but can climb to over $1000 quickly. This is a very accurate and deadly weapon for an air rifle.
As for pellets:
Pellets come in different weights and shapes. Light weight pellets can travel very fast but can also drift off target due to crosswind. Heavy weight pellets will fly slower but will fly straighter and have more knock down impact. Personally "Speed" is not important to me. Accuracy is! Different rifles react differently depending on the manufacture of the pellets.
PCP's require a lot of air pressure to fire them. Most use between 2000 to 3000 PSI. A simple C02 bottle only uses 80 PSI. PCP's require much more air pressure.
PCP class air rifles require a support system to charge them. A simple hand pump can cost you anywhere between $160 to over $200. If you use a Scuba tank setup it can cost you around $400 an electric pump can cost over $3000.
Depends on how fast the gun that shoots 700 feet gets it projectile to 700 feet.
Nope. Fairly snappy air RIFLE that shoots .177 pellets at 1050 feet per second.
The Barrett M107 .50 caliber sniper rifle is known to shoot faster than the speed of sound. The speed of sound is approximately 1,125 feet per second, while the Barrett M107 has a muzzle velocity of about 2,800 feet per second.
.8 miles/second
Possibly. I have watched a shooter with no hands use a rifle very well- he shoots using his feet.
28,251 feet. It's second highest peak in the world. Mount Everest is the highest.
it shoots 2 darts per second, has a 10 dart clip, shoots 20 or 30 feet, and you have to pump it 20 times.
In terms of cities in Ohio, Hiram is the 20th highest elevation in Ohio at 1,250 feet. Sparta is the second highest elevation at 1,350 feet.
Colorado has the second highest average elevation in the United States, with a mean elevation of 6,800 feet above sea level. This is second only to Wyoming, which has the highest mean elevation at 6,700 feet.
It depends on what rifle and what cartridge is used. It can be as slow as 700 or 800 hundred feet per second (for 22 short rounds) or as high as several thousand feet per second for higher calibers.
With 3 pumps, the AS-1 shoots 15 feet. With 4 pumps, the AS-1 shoots 17 feet. With 5 pumps, the AS-1 shoots 20 feet. With 6 pumps, the AS-1 shoots 25 feet. With 7 pumps, the AS-1 shoots the maximum distance of 30 feet.
The average speed of a rifle bullet is typically around 2,500 to 3,000 feet per second.
