There is a web site called "marlin manufacture dates", but it will only give you the year of manufacture, not an actual month and day. Seeings as you already know that it is an 1883 rifle, then you probably know as much as you are going to find out about the rifle.
write to marlin with any and all markins on the barrel and receiver they will be able to give you a lot of info
First you have to tell us what condition the rifle is in. Is it Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor. Without this information it is impossible to give you an estimate of the value.
You would need to know the serial number to give you a exact year of production, but the Marlin Model 1893 rifle was made from 1893-1936.
While I cannot give you a age for your rifle,I can say that the Western Field(Montgomery Wards) model 740A was made for Montgomery Wards by the Marlin firearms company. The Marlin model 336 and your rifle are one and the same. The value will be between 150-275 dollars depending on overall condition, and a good bore.
The Atlas Lever Action was made between 1900-1903. You will have to give more information about the condition of the rifle. try rating it from poor to Excellent so I can give you an estimate of value.
The Marlin 336 can be dated by serial number, including any letter prefix. But since you did not give us a serial number, we can't tell.
i need the year of the rifle and condition in order to give you a price...
