Depends on how you define "youth deaths". There is one group putting forward a number that exceeds the total deaths of ALL children from all causes- seems they consider anyone 25 and younger a child, and have included things like a 22 year old shot by the police during a robbery. If you check the FBI crime report, it may have some more accurate data than what is being given out in the media.
