I have one I purchased in 1975 at a JC Penney store in Anchorage, Alaska 37 years ago. if that helps answer your question. At that time I paid $88.95 for it but it's probably worth more than that now. I bought the Savage 24C Series SP. I carried it a lot while visiting the land I bought on Lazy Mountain just outside of Palmer Alaska by Wolverine Lake. Haven't shot it in many years, just like having it as a souvenir I guess. Only thing missing right now is the black Buttplate and the Trap Cover that flipped out to put extra ammo in the stock of the shotgun. Looking for those but quite difficult to find here in Texas where I now live.
value 150 - 175

I have a model 99 .300 Savage and I am curious of the value. I have no idea what year it was manufactured but it is in excellent condition.
The "SP" suffix stands for Specialty Series(R).
Sorry- there are at least 24 different Savage Model 99s. Value is driven by EXACT make/ model, and condition. With the exception of the 99E, most are worth around $450-$550 in good/ very good condition. Some rare versions are worth more.
On a Savage Model 110, "SP" typically stands for "Short Action Pistol." This designation indicates that the rifle is designed for short action cartridges, which are generally shorter in length compared to long action cartridges. This allows for a more compact and lighter rifle, enhancing maneuverability and reducing weight for the shooter.
Your colt was made in 1973.
