I would like to give you an answer, but I can not find any information on a Daisy BB gun model 38. I did find information on a Daisy BB rifle model 38. It was made between 1938-41 and again after the war from 1948-52. In order to give you an estimate of value (For the Rifle model 38) I need to know the current condition of the rifle. Is it still working? Is it in Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition (Like New). without more information It is not possible to answer this question.

value depends on overall condition and gun model..............
Value of ANY gun is based on make, model, condition. There is not enough information in your question to answer it.
The value of any firearm is based on exact MAKE, MODEL and CONDITION. You gave us a model only. You best bet will be to visit a local gun shop or gun show for a hands on appraisal.
the model if the gun is near perfect condition is 500
The 1888 was never made in .38-55. If your gun is marked 38W, then it is a .38-40, if it's marked .38-55, then it is not an 1888, but probably a 1893. No way to give you a value, as I don't know what you've got, nor could I tell you without a few pictures of the gun. The 1888 was only offered in .44-40, .38-40, and .32-20, not .38-55. Values depend on the model, and condition. If your gun is a .38-55, it is not an 1888, so I don't know what model you have.
It depends on what condition the gun is in,markings on the gun,and what the history of the gun is.
Can't be answered without knowing how much gold was used.
