There are several firearms that have been positively identified as used by Annie Oakley. They include Smith & Wesson revolvers, assorted shotguns, and rifles made by Winchester and Marlin, among others. She also used a number of .22 rifles. Many of her larger caliber "rifles" were actually smoothbore firearms, to permit the use of shot cartridges rather than solid bullets.
