Winchester discontinued putting the WCF markings on there model 1894 rifles after World War II.
They haven't
Yours was made in 1954. They quit making them in 1958.
Yes, they quit making it. Yes, they quit making it.
I can say that your rifle was made sometime between 1894-1941.Winchester quit chambering the model 1894 rifle in 25-35 WCF at the outbreak of World War II.You should be able to find out alot of Info on the pre-64 made Winchester model 1894 rifles anywhere on the internet.
Western Auto never made rifles- or shotguns. A number of gun makers- notably Savage, Springfield, Mossberg, Marlin and Winchester made what were known as "Hardware" guns. Rather than being marked as a Savage or Marlin, they were marked with Western Auto's brand- Revelation. Western Auto quit carrying firearms in the late 60s/ early 70's if I recall correctly, after the 1968 Gun Control Act went into force.
It was made in 1905. It shoots .22 Winchester Automatic. Not .22 short, long, or long rifle. Regular .22 cal cases will burst or rupture if used. .22 win auto is .224 and reg .22 is .222 Winchester and Remington quit making ammo for these rifles in the 1980's. Collectors will pay $35-50 a box for it. Old Western Scrounger had 2 million rounds made up, and is around $12-15 a box. It is the same diameter as .22WRF and .22MAG. Shoots a 45 grain lead bullet. Great for rabbits and squirrels. Big Jake 1001
