It's a BB/175 smoothe boar made from 1940 to 1969.
Benjamin made this model from 1946 to 1985, but did not start serializing them until 1957. I also have a Benjamin Franklin that has no serial number. Before 1957 it is not possible to set an exact date. Just know it's OLD. The 137 is a .177 caliber pellet pistol the 132 is a .22 caliber pistol and the 130 is a BB pistol.
What condition is it in, That determines the value. BTW they all had Brass Barrels.
Benjamin (Owned by Crosman) has a new Benjamin Rogue it is a .357 caliber. At present it will be the largest Pellet rifle made with the Benjamin name. Yes it is a hunting rifle. The next largest Benjamin rifle is the Benjamin Marauder .25 caliber. Sam Yang make a 50 caliber and a 44 caliber hunting air rifle.
The Benjamin 132 is an air pistol not a rifle, it uses .22 caliber pellets, not .177 caliber pellets. The 130 series of Benjamin pistols were models: 130 shot .175 Cal BB's 132 shot .22 Cal pellets 137 shot .177 Cal pellets If yours is a rifle then I have NO idea what it shoots
Benjamin airguns made Ben Franklin brand airguns. The name is no longer used on any Benjamin model. Benjamin airgun bought Sheridan Airgun company years ago and continued to make Sheridan models. Crosman airgun Co bought Benjamin airgun Co. Crosman still manufactures Both Benjamin airguns and Sheridan airguns. Benjamin airguns come in .177 Cal and .22 Caliber Rifles. Sheridan models only come in .20 Caliber rifles. Most large sportingood stores like BassPro and Cabelas sell the air rifles. Or you can order them online ( See the link below.) All Benjamin and Sheridan airguns are Pellet guns not BB guns.
It was made between 1968 to 1986. It is a .22 caliber rifle. If you want the owners manual for this rifle see the link below. Crosman owns and makes Benjamin and Sheridan rifles.
I've researched several airgun catalogues and can not find a Benjamin model 217. However the 17 at the end of model 217 indicated that it's a .177 caliber air gun. The name Franklin added to Benjamin was a marketing ploy to sell the air gun. Benjamin Franklin had nothing to do with it. Walter Benjamin invented the Benjamin line of airguns back in the late 1800's. Please recheck the model number and give me some sort of rating like Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent on the current condition of the air gun so I can give it a value (If we ever identify it)
