The Makarov pistol was invented in 1951 by Russia and Soviet Union. This pistol was used in both the Soviet war in Afghanistan and in the Vietnam war.

9mm Makarov is the caliber of the pistol. To answer your question, we need the make and model of tthe pistol. There are some pistols that do not have a hi cap mag, and not all mags work in all pistols.

9x18 is the Makarov cartridge. Browning never made a firearm chambered for it. They did, however, make such a pistol in 9x17 - otherwise known as the .380 Automatic Colt Pistol. It was actually the Beretta 84 'Cheetah', badge engineered and marketed as the Browning BDA 380.
I'll assume you mean "What is the range of the Makarov pistol?" I'll further assume that you refer to the classic PM (Пистолет Макарова). As with most military sidearms of the era, the effective range is around 50 meters.
