Are there any makarov 9mm pistol users out there if so what can you tell me?

I am certain there are a lot of users of the Makarov pistol out there. You may find some additional info on the pistol at surplusrifle.com. You may compare notes with Makarov owners at several on-line forums. Search for "makarov forum" and see what you get.

9mm Makarov is the caliber of the pistol. To answer your question, we need the make and model of tthe pistol. There are some pistols that do not have a hi cap mag, and not all mags work in all pistols.

There are about a dozen cartridges that have 9mm as part of their name. If you mean the 9mm Parabellum (sometimes called 9mm Luger) it is longer than the Makarov, not as fat, and has more power. The 9mm Makarov is actually 9.27 mm.
