You could use the 308 ammo in an Enfield.
lighter bullet and more ammo can be carried as opposed to the 30/06 or 308
There is no long action 308, it's a 30-06.
30/06 has a slight edge because of powder capacity If you are looking to buy a deer rifle you should probably go for the 30-06. The .308 is a 250 yard cartridge, while the 30-06 is a 275 yard cartridge, I don't know much about ammo but I know my rifles well.
Only ammo marked "30-06" on the case head- or military ammo for "US Rifle Caliber .30". Do not attempt to fire 30-30, .308, or 7.62 NATO ammo. ------ The US Military briefly experimented with converting .30-06 to .308 by the addition of a spacer sleeve in the chamber. It was abandoned due to the adapter coming loose during prolonged firing. .32 acp can also be fired through a .30-06 with a cartridge adapter. The M1 Garand rifle is designed to fire a specific loading called "M2 Ball" ONLY. Anything else at your own risk. .32 acp adapters are currently available.
Today I shot my new Savage .308 and used Federal 7.62X51 FMJ ammo, grouping nicely at 100 yards. I went to Remington Core-Lokt .308 rounds and both my dad and I had a hard time keeping tight groupings. From what I hear a fair number of guns have some preference. I just haven't found the right round for deer hunting yet, as the FMJ simply will not do. I also await an answer to this question.
06
7.62 is cal. 308. 7.62 was used after WW2 in the M14 rifle..WW2 used 30/06 cal.
That is an extremely vague question. Probably referring to a gun chambered for a .30 caliber bullet which could be .30-06, .308, .300 mag, ect. Most likely bolt action of some sorth, with a 1000 rounds of ammo. My guess would be .30-06 or .308, both very popular NATO rounds.
It uses a 30 caliber or .308 inch diamiter projectile. .308
No
No, it does not.
There is no difference. A 30-06 Springfield is the only ammo under that designation. Now different companies sell the 30-06 cartridge, but it is all 30-06 Springfield ammo.
