The feel good because they thought that French and British change everything in the Middle East

I think it is fair, at least I hope it is, to say that Britain did well for the Empire. I also hope that those who were subjected to British rule, for as long as it lasted, do not feel that the British are too bad a lot. I am British, but I do not see myself now as a master of anything other than a small piece of real estate in UK. It was the way things were then. I am not going to be apologetic about what the British did, yes, we didn't get it right all the time. But it is the thrust of my point that there have been many, far worse Imperial powers in history. In some instances Britain did benefit its colonies. And if all you think we did was to spread Cricket & Christianity then there are worse things than those in this world.
It means that you feel euphoric and totally optimistic.
The French Revolution was a wakeup call to European monarchs who were shocked and appalled at what had happened in France. They feared this might encourage people in their countries to do the same. As a result, efforts were made to incorporate Enlightenment ideals in many countries.
Do you mean Captain John Montresor? If not, feel free to re-ask giving the first name. If you did: John Montresor was a British military engineer. He travelled to America with his father, who was also in the military. He served in the French/Indian war and the American Revolution. He oversaw the construction of British forts and defences in the Americas and Bahamas. Some of the best forts and defences (some labelled 'impenetrable') built by the British were overseen by Captain John Montresor. He also constructed barracks in cities such as Philadelphia and New York for the British. In 1775 he was appointed 'Chief Engineer' in America. Despite his hero status, he found himself in debt upon his return to Britain. The courts ordered him to be jailed in Maidstone Prison, in England, while they get to the bottom of his debt issue. He later died there during his proceedings.

Being part of one of the greatest civilisations ever must of made you feel pretty good. Not so good when things began to go wrong and your country began to be dominated by foreigners (directly by the Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Turks, French and British; indirectly by the Soviet Union, the US etc)

How did the Loyalist and British feel about the Battle of Yorktown
During the French and Indian War, the Iroquois sided with the British against the French and their Algonquin allies, both traditional enemies of the Iroquois. The Iroquois hoped that aiding the British would also bring favors after the war.
The French engaged primarily in fur trapping and did not establish large permanent settlements

first off because they were trying and they attempted to seek independence from British and French rule. They were promised independence by the Europeans due to their demand for nationalism. They felt as though they had cooperated enough to where they can now run their own nation i.e it was a time of nationalism all over the world throughout that time. Although the Arabs were promised independence from Europe they never gained the independence that Britain and France promised them and in fact they were not represent as nations. Rather they remained to be occupied by foreign influence. One of the most significant events that sparked rebellion came when the Arab nations assembled their own delegation to become part of the Versailles conference but were denied representation so the aftermath of that sparked much resentment from the Arab countries trying to seek independence. Also it was not within the British and French interest to allow the Arabs a free nation because the middle east was a strategic focal point of British and French influence. The British maintained occupying Egypt due to maintaining their influence on the Suez Canal which was an important place for transportation to where they occupied India. While the British were making concession promises to the Arab nations they were also promising certain Middle Eastern territory to other European nations such as France that was seeking to occupy Syria. They ultimately gave the privilege of other European nations to occupy other territories within the middle east instead of giving Arab nations the independence they had promised them.
We british people feel that fairies are evil and devilish creatures!
